Argentina is the largest wine producer in South America. Malbec is surely the most famous wine in Argentina but thanks to vines imported from Europe lately, any vine is produced in this country. Historically, Argentine winemakers were traditionally more interested in quantity rather than quality. The most important wine regions of the country are located in the provinces of Mendoza, San Juan and La Rioja. Salta, Catamarca, Río Negro and more recently Southern Buenos Aires.
