Winemaking: Garçon is our purest expression of Clone 169 Cabernet Sauvignon from the Wildcat Vineyard. While we typically vinify and age each Cabernet Sauvignon clone separately before blending, Clone 169 contributes structure and complexity to our flagship Mount Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon. In Garçon, it stands alone, revealing the distinctive personality of this remarkable site and clone. Sourced exclusively from a single block in the Wildcat Vineyard, this rare monopole wine captures the focused expression of one clone from one lot of vines. Clone 169 produces a structured, powerful and full-bodied Cabernet with remarkable concentration, while retaining the elegance and balance that define Mount Veeder.
Tasting Notes: . Bright, focused aromas of black currant, leather, violet and licorice lead to flavors of salty black plum and blackberry coulis. Graphite, cracked pepper and delicate blossoms add savory and mineral complexity. Polished tannins and vibrant acidity carry the wine through a long, powerful finish
Aging: 26 months in French oak (60% new & 40% used once) plus one year in bottle prior to release
