Winemaking: This is our most complete expression of Mount Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon and a clear reflection of the two rugged, high-elevation vineyards its sourced from. Dark and structured at first, the wine reveals layered blue and black fruit, lifted herbal nuance, and a mineral-driven tension that carries through the finish. Firm yet beautifully resolved, the tannins are silken in texture, lending grip and elegance. Cabernet Sauvignon provides the backbone and depth, while Merlot softens the mid-palate and adds suppleness. Cabernet Franc extends the finish with freshness, aromatic lift, and savory complexity. Powerful without heaviness, the wine is defined by balance and restraint as much as intensity, offering immediate appeal while promising continued development and longevity in the cellar for the next 15-20 yrs.
Tasting Notes: Aromas of mountain herbs combine with flavors of red, blue and black berries rolled in spice for a lavish and age-worthy Cabernet-blend. Cedar and wet tobacco, pencil shavings deliver savory elements through the finish. Firm while pliant tannins are palate cleansing and will do well with additional aging in cellar.
Aging: 30 months in French oak (60% new & 40% used once)
